I want to be a pleasing plant

Spring is coming and the sun is starting to shine more. Its rays are beaming on the places that were previously too cold for me to bear because I don’t like cold that much. Cold affects my mood as it makes me lazier. It also affects my activities because I find that going for a walk is simply too cold to bear. It has also made me put on more clothes which can restrict my movements. It also makes me eat more which is not very good.

But then again, without winter I cannot eat the cherries, mangoes, peaches, plums, persimmons and kiwis which I really like in summer. Without winter Australia will be in further trouble for water. Without winter, people who do not like heat will not be in a very good mood all year round. We do need the cold and rain after all. They are suited for the benefits of other things.

Therefore, since there are different perspectives when you look at things… I think that winter is not so bad anymore. Because without winter, some things that I like or want cannot be made possible.

I am not very fond of the idea of freezing my backside and I find taking a shower in the morning is a misery. But winter brings good things and there are good purposes in winter.

Just like the things that I do not like to do or go through. Or problems that force me to layer up my defense. Or situations that compel me to open my umbrella of faith to protect myself and loved ones from attacks.

But without these things life might just be boring and I will never grow and will be in drought. I am like a plant, after all, that needs some rain water and fertilizer. As well as pesticide which will protect me from the worms, bugs and other diseases.

I need faith after all to face the cold and rainy days. Faith that encourages me to pull through and persist in growing to be a beautiful plant. A plant that will reflect my seeds which fruits are sweet, tasty and juicy.

A plant which will never refuse to grow just because it rains heavily. A plant that will please the master farmer who takes care of it. A plant that endures thorn cutting, bugs elimination, disease prevention and typhoon. A plant that realizes that everything was worth it when it stops growing and its lifespan is over. A plant which final fruits produced reflect the hard work its master has laboured for.

A plant that brings joy and satisfaction.
