To my beautiful and handsome readers,
Keep pressing in through hard times
Keep believing through doubt
Keep loving through prosecution
These were the message that my friend received from God when we started
a church small group a few months back. The group was intended to help each other to grow in maturity and give encouragement to those who need it.
I emailed this to my group members:
Many of us (if not all) within the group are going through some kind of
hardships or problems. Whether it is classified as big or small, it is
still a problem. When you tell me things, I symphatize with you and
deeply care for all of you. Though, no matter how 'smart', 'wise',
'biblical' or'encouraging' my words are, I will not be able to fully
comprehend what you are going through because I am not you. The only
support that I can give is a lending hand, a word of prayer and a
shoulder to cry on.
I am very limited in my ability, imperfect because of my many
weaknesses and shallow because of my humanly flesh and desires. The
words or reactions that I give out to each individual who shares with
me might not and most probably will not be satisfying.
Thank God, He is faithful, limitless, magnificent, brilliant, awesome,
great, powerful, soft-hearted and responsible. Thank God, He is the
only one who can fully understand what we are going through and weep
with us when we cry. Thank God, there is His Holy Spirit who He has
given to us so that we are given strength and guidance through all the
hardships we are going through. Thank God, His ways are perfect and His
mercy is abundant that we can face anything on this face of the earth.
Because there is not a thing without purpose or outside our ability to
face circumstances. Because every problems has a solution and God has
already prepared the solutions and answers to our every cry.
Continue to press in. Continue the race. Continue to keep the faith.
Continue to do the good works that God prepared us to do. Because, we
are in His care even before we were born and He gives perfect peace to
those who keep their purpose firm and put their trust in Him.
Let this following psalm from David be our prayer and I can't wait to
listen to the list of praises we are soon to announce. Let's be proud
and joyful cos our God is an awesome God!
In fact, let's start now. I praise God for allowing us to face problems
and tests/trials. He loves and cares so much about us that He wants our
characters to develop to be more like Christ. I praise God in all
circumstances; good or bad, easy or difficult, stormy or sunny; because
all things work together for our good.
Have a blessed time ahead with God and be excited for every single
thing that is going to happen, even eating instant noodles which I am
about to do...hehe..
Love, hugs and prayers
Psalm 138 - The Lord's Goodness to the Faithful
1 I will praise You with my whole heart;
Before the gods I will sing praises to You.
2 I will worship toward Your holy temple,
And praise Your name
For Your lovingkindness and Your truth;
For You have magnified Your word above all Your name.
3 In the day when I cried out, You answered me,
And made me bold with strength in my soul.
4 All the kings of the earth shall praise You, O LORD,
When they hear the words of Your mouth.
5 Yes, they shall sing of the ways of the LORD,
For great is the glory of the LORD.
6 Though the LORD is on high,
Yet He regards the lowly;
But the proud He knows from afar.
7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me;
You will stretch out Your hand
Against the wrath of my enemies,
And Your right hand will save me.
8 The LORD will perfect that which concerns me;
Your mercy, O LORD, endures forever;
Do not forsake the works of Your hands.
So I hope that it will help you see through life from a different perspective. Even though you don’t have the same faith as me. But I believe that if there was a God who can change someone who was really bad and a failure in the eyes of the world… then He is a God worth following for me.
My life has completely turned around. I used to dislike Christians and couldn’t understand anything about the Jesus thing that they were preaching about. So it’s funny that looking back, Someone I despised is someone I cannot let go…
